Three Rivers Film Festival Competitive Shorts Deadline
Pittsburgh Filmmakers is now accepting short films for its Three Rivers Film Festival Competative Shorts Program. Short works (under 25 minutes) are entered into a juried competition with prizes. Films and videos of all content types are accepted, inclding narrative, documentary, experimental and animation.
Entrants should send a DVD copy of the work, postmarked by August 24, 2012. Copies will not be returned. Short works must include a $25 entry fee. Winning and honorably-mentioned shorts will be screened during the Festival. Prizes are $500 plus a $500-certificate for Kodak film stock for first place, $300 plus a $300-certificate for Kodak film stock for second, and $200 plus a $200-certificate for Kodak film stock for third. GENERAL RULES
The competitive section of the 3RFF is open to short films under 25 minutes. Genres considered are narrative, documentary, experimental and animation. There is a limit of three entries per person.
A completed entry form and $25 (non-refundable) entry fee must accompany each piece submitted. Each entry must be postmarked by August 24, 2012. Make checks payable to Pittsburgh Filmmakers.

Work submitted must have a copyright or have been completed no earlier than January 2011.
All entries must be submitted on DVD for prescreening selection Do not send film reels or original materials. Submission disks will not be returned unless requested with an enclosed SASE with the proper amount of postage.
A number of works will be selected to be shown as part of the shorts program of the 3RFF (November 2012).
Of those selected for inclusion in the festival, cash awards will be given for first ($500), second ($300) and third ($200) place, along with matching certificates for Kodak film stock. Judging will be done by a festival jury. Staff members of Pittsburgh Filmmakers are welcome to enter, and their works may be selected for Festival inclusion but are not eligible for prize awards.
