Pittsburgh Society of Artists consists of more than 250 Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania artists whose work represents all two and three-dimensional media. Since 1967, as a member guild of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Pittsburgh Society of Artists has been dedicated to the vitality and growth of the visual arts in the Pittsburgh area. For more than 30 years the organization has been dedicated to encouraging and supporting art in all its forms. PSA's aim is to foster both public awareness and artistic excellence by providing its members with opportunities to exhibit their work throughout the region. The basic goals have always remained the same: to nurture artistic growth through friendly competition and to stimulate creative thinking through ongoing public dialogue.

To become a member of PSA, individuals must be 18 years of age and live within 150 miles of Pittsburgh, and submit three original artworks for screening by the Board of Directors. Screenings are held in the spring and fall of each year.
