In Sisterhood is an oral history project highlighting influential feminists of the region – including Alma Speed Fox, Molly Rush, Eleanor Smeal, Barbara Hafer – by recording their histories on digital video, and creating a multimedia exhibit that includes a portrait gallery and videos using their interview footage. The project was selected by the Community Connections Initiative as one of twelve regional projects to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Pittsburgh. The "In Sisterhood" project director is Patricia Ulbrich, a feminist sociologist and film student. For more than three decades, her research has focused on women’s studies and women’s issues, including how individuals’ race, class and gender shape their life chances and the history of the women’s movement.
